Osho Kundalini Meditation

Kundalini is not really meditation. It is
just preparation. You are preparing your
instrument. When it is ready, then you stand
in silence, then meditation starts..."

Osho Kundalini Meditation is a transformative one-hour experience divided into four stages. The first three stages are accompanied by specially composed music, created under Osho's direct guidance to enhance the meditation.

1. Shaking (15 minutes): Participants engage in vigorous shaking to release tension and awaken their bodies.

2. Dancing (15 minutes): This stage invites free expression through dance, allowing participants to move instinctively and joyfully.

3. Silent Sitting (15 minutes): As the music shifts, participants transition into stillness, fostering a deeper connection with their inner selves.

4. Celebration (15 minutes): The final stage is done in silence, encouraging participants to bask in the experience and celebrate their journey.

Typically practiced in the late afternoon, this meditation serves as a powerful way to let go of the day’s accumulated stress and reconnect with oneself.

Stages of Osho Kundalini Meditation

First Stage: 15 minutes

Allow yourself to be completely loose and let your body shake freely, feeling the energy rising from your feet. Embrace the movement—let go of any tension and become one with the shaking. Your eyes can be open or closed; just focus on the sensations and let the rhythm carry you. Surrender to the experience!

Second Stage: 15 minutes

Dance freely, letting your body move in whatever way feels right. Release any inhibitions and allow the music to guide you. Feel the joy of movement, expressing yourself fully as your body flows and sways. Enjoy this moment of pure, unfiltered expression!

Third Stage: 15 minutes

Close your eyes and find stillness, whether sitting or standing. Become a witness to everything happening within you and around you. Observe your thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgment. Embrace this moment of awareness, allowing yourself to simply be.

Fourth Stage: 15 minutes

With your eyes closed, lie down and find a state of complete stillness. Allow your body to relax fully. Remember, in this fourth stage, you have the option to stay seated if that feels more comfortable for you. Embrace the quiet and simply be present, letting go of everything else.

"...Allow the shaking, don't do it.
Stand silently, feel it coming,
and when your body starts a little trembling
help it - but don't do it.
Enjoy it, feel blissful about it,
allow it, receive it, welcome it -
but don't will it. If you force it,
it will become an exercise,
a bodily physical exercise.
Then the shaking will be there
but just on the surface,
it will not penetrate you.
You will remain solid, stone like,
rock like within;
you will remain a manipulator,
the doer, and the body will just be following.
The body is not the question -
you are the question."
